The British Government has confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is self-isolating after coming in contact with someone who tested positive coronavirus (COVID-19).
This comes as the deadly second wave of the pandemic sweeps through the UK and much of Europe – forcing governments to shutter the economies yet again.
A spokesman for the government disclosed this via a statement on Sunday night, noting that Johnson who was hospitalised with coronavirus in April is currently asymptomatic and will work from his Downing Street residence.
“He will carry on working from Downing Street, including on leading the Government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic,”
“The PM is well and does not have any symptoms of COVID-19”, the spokesman said.
